Do You Hear? by Lisa Izzie

Copyright 2007. Written: August 30, 2002

Do you know that so many
are fighting down here?
They're using your name,
and invoking much fear.

They lead others to think,
There's only one way.
And those that don't follow,
Are then IN the way.

Some chastise and cry,
"You're all going to die".
Others preach chaos,
And explode by your side.

What should be loving, giving and kind,
Has erupted to levels,
They're all out of their minds.

They're starving the children,
and stoning their wives.
Or worry of others,
"Must save their lives."

Could you please tell them,
You forgive all over time.
That mistakes of today,
Aren't tomorrows crimes.

Because they worry, they fret,
Causing sleepless nights.
They imprison, they burn,
And some bloody fights.

Do you know they're crying
And hurting down here?
Do you hear all the crying?
Do you hear?
Are you there?
Do you hear?
