Just An Excuse by Lisa Izzie

Copyright 2009. Written: March 9, 2009

I want to believe in God,
I want to believe he's there,
I want to believe he hears,
I want to believe he cares.

I want to feel his presents,
I want to hear his call,
I want to know he'll be there,
To catch me if I fall.

But prayers go unanswered,
And havoc lay all around,
The good I see are suffering,
So many beaten down.

How can so many follow,
Blinded in their beliefs,
Kill, maim and curse,
Salvation is their relief.

In the name of God we kill,
In the name of God we chant,
In the name of God we fight,
In the name of God we rant.

Seems that God's become a name,
Used as an excuse,
To control and hurt others,
And keep a tightened noose.
